My bedroom is such an odd mish-mash of purples and creams at the moment and feels so cluttered. I've decided that I want to switch things up and completely change the colour scheme to help create a more calming atmosphere. I'm craving a more neutral and minimalistic theme, so I will be stocking up on light accessories to help create a new feel without having to redecorate.
Whilst driving home from work one evening, I made a spontaneous decision to visit my local IKEA store and see if I could find some bits and bobs for my very plain and boring room. I absolutely love browsing through the display rooms to help develop my own interior ideas. I headed down to the Market Place and picked up a few new items to display in my room.
Ofelia Throw in White
I instantly fell in love with this throw as soon as I saw it! I have been on the hunt for a decent bed throw for the past week or so, initially I wanted a faux fur blanket. However, I was immediately drawn to the Ofelia Throw due to it's gorgeous and unusual texture. The material is so soft, and instantly adds that shabby-chic vibe to my room with minimal effort!
Skurar Candle Holder in White
No IKEA trip is complete without purchasing a set of fairy lights, right? Or is that just me?! ...Anyway, I picked this set up as I thought they'd add a cute touch to my dull room! Since purchasing these, I've seen a number of Pinterest posts that show a set of fairy lights concealed in a glass jar (like the one below). I think they're so pretty to look at and will now be purchasing a jar to help recreate this look. For now, they're draped over my headboard to give my bedroom a relaxed glow in the evenings.
After recently ordering my brand new Real Techniques brushes which arrived yesterday (review will be up very soon!), I needed somewhere to keep them. Lo and behold, I stumbled across this cute little make up brush holder! Well, actually, it's a candle holder... But it works as a perfect pot to store my brushes. I adore the vintage look and it sits perfectly next to my collection of perfumes! This was also surprising cheap; at a mere £2.50, how could I resist?
Ramsta Battery Powered Fairy Lights
Do you know anywhere that sells cute home decor? I'd love to hear your suggestions! :)
